HOW MANY CREDITS SHOULD I TAKE EACH SEMESTER?
Enrollment in 9 credits is considered full-time for Graduate students at the University of Utah. Once residency is met and
coursework is completed, 3 credits of Dissertation Research (ROBOT 7970) is considered a full-time course load.

WHAT COURSES SHOULD I TAKE EACH SEMESTER?
Course work will primarily be selected by the student and their faculty advisor (for PhD and MS-Thesis students).
MS-Non-Thesis students may consult with the Robotics Graduate Student Coordinator or the Robotics Director.

WHEN ARE COURSES OFFERED?
Robotics Center courses are offered by Price College of Engineering Robotics Center Faculty, primarily from the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the
Kahlert School of Computing. Course offerings will be available on a regular rotating schedule. It is imperative
to map out course selections early to identify a timeline for desired courses.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THESIS (ROBOT 6970) OR DISSERTATION (ROBOT 7970) RESEARCH?
First, check with your faculty advisor regarding the courses s/he advises and how many research credits you’ll need that semester.
Then, contact the Graduate Student Coordinator for the CLASS NUMBER for your faculty advisor’s 6970 or 7970 section.
